It's always the sauces that make the dish. Insp It's always the sauces that make the dish. Inspired by a recent restaurant dish, I had to recreate this sauce.  A simple chicken breast layered in vibrant herb sauce.Fresh basil leaves aways remind me of summer visits with my son exploring my dad/nonno’s garden. The fresh dill, though, takes this sauce in a whole new direction. 🤌🏽🤌🏽👌🏻Give this antioxidant-rich fresh herb sauce a try.   I didn’t measure this one out (you can’t go wrong with these fresh, wholesome ingredients), but here’s what went into the sauce:➡️ Fresh basil leaves & Fresh dill (handful of both)
➡️ Capers (about a tablespoon)
➡️ Olive oil
➡️ Garlic Cloves (we used a few)
➡️ A little mayo (chosen brand avo oil)
➡️ Lemon juiceDue to the dill and no nuts or seeds, this doesn't taste like pesto, —so if you want a thicker texture and added healthy fats,  adding pine nuts or sunflower seeds would do the trick.PS. This sauce is so versatile so be adventurous! Try in a chickpea salad, quinoa bowl, over salmon, pasta, or as a dip.#yycmoms

School's wrapping up with pajama day, so we went w School's wrapping up with pajama day, so we went with our favorite gluten-free, protein-rich pancakes **made the day before, because who has time for batter before school drop off?**Ricotta often showed up in my childhood, and now it's showing up in less traditional recipes.🤌🏼 Fun fact: Ricotta means “recooked” in Italian.  Naturally lower in casein and lactose, making it easier to digest for those slightly dairy-sensitive.Perfetto with that extra squeeze of lemon juice on top. 👌🏻Highly recommend giving these a try. That classic orange fiber tub had its moment ~ jus That classic orange fiber tub had its moment ~ just like dial-up internet. 👌🏻 Getting things out the door is key for hormone balance, detox, and feeling energized.Constipation is complex and not always fixed by tossing in random fiber. 👉🏼 Butyrate is only made when specific fibers (like resistant starch or inulin) are fermented by gut bacteria.✨️ Today we’re showcasing cooked and cooled potatoes; a favorite source of resistant starch, the kind of fermentable fiber your gut bacteria love to turn into butyrate.PS. Doctor enters with “Well, labs came back normal.” So you leave feeling just as crappy ~ clown hat firmly in place as you walk out.Yeah, we hear this a lot. Many feel awful yet told their labs are “normal.”💫 Quick tip we share with clients:  If you have access to your lab portal, check your results over time by clicking the graph view.  It’ll show you which markers are trending in the wrong direction.👌🏻 Trends matter.  Most doctors only flag labs once they fall outside the "normal" range, often when disease has already set in. But dysfunction usually builds gradually. Catching patterns early can make all the difference. 🙌🏼Learning normal ranges vs. optimal is also to your advantage.For example, in Canada, the normal for TSH is 0.45–4.5 mIU/L, but to feel your best, especially for fertility goals —  ideal range is closer to 0.5–2.5.Save this or share it with a friend who wants to be more proactive about their health.#functionalnutrition #yycfertility #yyzfertility #yycmoms #yyzmoms #hormonehealth

Being such an important topic of concern, we are building on our last share.Often, the issue of estrogen being high or dominant is actually because our “used-up” estrogen isn’t clearing out properly (even with "normal labs." Instead of leaving, it recirculates, leading to issues shown in the slides.Let's not mistaken 'used up' estrogen with the right kind,  in balance, which does wonders for our health, hormones, looks, and mood.Low progesterone is a key topic, too, but we will save this for another time.#hormonehealth

Keeping up with health advice can feel like we’r Keeping up with health advice can feel like we’re coming unhinged, we get it. 👇🏼But here’s the thing, our bodies aren’t easily fooled.  The gut microbiome is a delicate ecosystem, with its own natural strains that are key to long-term health.Antibiotics don’t wipe out all the bacteria, BUT they do deplete & damage the environment.The usual advice?
