If you had told me in my 20s that I'd be pregnant If you had told me in my 20s that I'd be pregnant at 44, I probably would have laughed. We hear a lot about declining fertility after 35, and while age absolutely matters, it's only one piece of the picture.Throughout my career as a Functional Nutrition Practitioner, I've spent years studying hormones, fertility, and the many factors that influence them. No, we can't stop aging. But we can support the systems that help our bodies function optimally. And many of those same systems play a role in the very risks and statistics we hear so much about. This isn't a promise that everyone will conceive naturally at 44.Today is simply my story—and a reminder that age isn't the only thing that deserves attention when discussing fertility. And yes... I guess this is officially my pregnancy announcement with not too much longer to go. 🤍P.S. Having grown up with three sisters of age gaps all over, we're excited about the bigger gap between these two. After having us all to himself for 8 years, my son—for the most part —can't wait to meet his little sister.Fun Fact: hubby took these photos with my phone camera and an app helped hide what was actually behind me 😆#yycfertility #hormonehealth #yycmoms #functionalnutrition #womenshealth
Progesterone to estradiol ratios, testosterone, co Progesterone to estradiol ratios, testosterone, cortisol, FSH and reproductive hormones matter too.But these are overlooked markers that quietly reveal a LOT and tie into this too.If you’re frustrated with hearing 'everything looks normal' while wanting to karate chop the air...check these important markersStandard bloodwork often misses these markers that reveal deeper patterns behind what’s going on.• Fasting Insulin — can detect blood sugar imbalances early, which are commonly connected to hormone and fertility/reproductive concerns• Vitamin D — essential for hormone health, immune function, mood, and fertility support• Iron Panel + Ferritin — low iron stores are very common in women, but running the full panel can reveal a much deeper pattern• B12 + Folate Patterns — important for energy production, nervous system health, and methylation pathways• Full Thyroid Panel + Antibodies (never just TSH) — helps assess actual thyroid function while also screening for possible autoimmune patterns• Homocysteine — can provide insight into inflammation and methylation patterns• CRP + Inflammation Markers — helps assess underlying inflammatory patterns within the body#yycfertility #yycmoms #hormonehealth #womenshormones #FunctionalNutrition
A little reminder that we offer Advanced Fertility A little reminder that we offer Advanced Fertility Nutrigenomics as an add-on option within our fertility programs. (yes, we offer a similar option for our hormone balancing programs too!)Because we approach each client as a unique case, this can be an incredibly helpful tool for reducing some of the guesswork behind patterns within the body.Your body may process nutrients, hormones, inflammation, and lifestyle factors differently than someone else’s. For these complex cases further personalization and understanding matters.Through Nutrigenomix, this is as an add-on option within our fertility programs.Using a simple cheek swab, this testing looks at genetic variations related to nutrient metabolism, methylation pathways, inflammation, oxidative stress, hormone pathways, egg & sperm health support, and more. Not every client needs advanced testing.
But for the right case, this is an incredibly valuable add on tool.Again, we also offer additional advanced testing options related to hormones, gut health, and other areas when appropriate for the individual case.Questions?

Hormones and fertility are our focus, so you know Hormones and fertility are our focus, so you know we had to shout this one out. But then again, we knew this all along.PCOS is now being referred to as PMOS
(Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome)This renaming better reflects the full-body hormonal, metabolic, and endocrine nature of this condition. For years, we’ve understood and supported it this way because hormones don’t operate in isolation.Blood sugar, ovulation, metabolism, androgen patterns, inflammation, stress response, digestion… it’s all connected. Why care? 10–13% of reproductive-aged women are affected, and up to 70% remain undiagnosed worldwide.Need root-cause support for your hormones or fertility?Email: valerie@seedstobranches.com#PMOS #HormoneHealth #WomensHealth #FertilitySupport #PCOSAwareness

Others feel exhausting, lonely, healing, overstimulating, messy...or like you’re reheating the same coffee for the 4th time!Sending extra love this weekend to the moms, the almost-moms, the grieving moms, the single moms, the mother figures, and the women quietly carrying more than most people realize.Whether you’re wishing time would slow down or simply trying to make it through a hard phase, please remember: your presence matters more than you know.To every version of motherhood. 🤍🩵🩷#mothersday2026

Understanding the bile–estrogen connection for you Understanding the bile–estrogen connection for your hormones is here. (That piece no one ever fills you in on)Most conversations separate estrogen and histamine but know there is an overlap. As estrogen rises through certain phases (especially into the luteal phase), it can influence bile flow.  Make no mistake bile flow is important for hormone clearance! This means how it’s produced in the liver and how effectively the gallbladder releases it.When that flow feels slower, digestion can feel heavier, and your gut environment can become a bit more reactive. This is why ensuring you have slide 4 in your back pocket (screenshot this), can be helpful for you ladies! Were you in the dark about this one?#HormoneHealth

Ladies, don’t we love pointing the finger at hormo Ladies, don’t we love pointing the finger at hormones? We hear it all the time in conversations and in everyday “girl chats.”But the reality is, hormones are often messengers that shift in response to something happening beneath the surface. And while symptoms can look similar,
the reasons behind them are often very different. This is where we start asking better questions:Are histamine patterns playing a role, especially in relation to estrogen? Are you working out or intermittent fasting on an undernourished system? Is digestion under-supported, yet you’re layering in more raw or cold foods? Are you pooping daily or is your body holding onto what it should be eliminating? Are supplements being used in a way that actually matches your needs? What is your cycle really telling you?  What’s your nutrient status look like? The questions are endless but they matter. This is exactly where we come in—
piecing together your unique pattern then a plan that’s simple, clear, and actually works for your body.

Most women I work with aren’t missing supplements. Most women I work with aren’t missing supplements.
They’re missing foundations that actually allow hormones to function properly. 🤌🏻Before I add anything in, I look at 3 things:1. Are you eating in a way that supports your circadian rhythm + insulin sensitivity?
Because insulin isn’t just about blood sugar — it directly impacts ovulation and hormone signaling.2. What’s your daily exposure to hormone disruptors?
BPA isn’t occasional anymore — it’s constant, and it accumulates.3. Can your body actually break down and absorb what you’re eating?
Because if digestion is off, you’re not getting the building blocks needed for hormone production or detox. This is why so many women feel like they’re “doing everything right” and still not seeing changes. If you’re stuck, this is usually where we start.Know someone reaching for another supplement right now?
Send them this first.#hormonehealth #yycmoms #yycfertility #functionalnutrition #bloodsugarbalance
You don’t need a trip to Hawaii to feel this shift You don’t need a trip to Hawaii to feel this shift — it’s not realistic for many families (we make it happen once in a while by maximizing travel points).Whether it’s a beach vacation, a nearby lake, or simply getting outside more when the sun is strong (with safe exposure), your body responds.👌🏻 Our bodies also store vitamin D in fat cells and the liver — so you’re also “paying it forward.”Within 7–10 days of consistent sun + water exposure, people often notice:
– digestion feels lighter
– skin starts clearing
– inflammation calms
– even that tongue coating improvesNow here’s where this ties into fertility 👇Many women are already running low before trying to conceive or entering pregnancy.Vitamin D becomes especially important moving into the second and late trimester, when demand increases.Research shows adequate vitamin D levels are linked to:
– healthy placental development
– better immune balance (mom + baby)
– baby’s bone + immune health
– lower risk associations with complications like preeclampsia and preterm birthOur environment isn’t separate from our health — it’s part of the foundation.#yycfertility #yycfertility #hormonehealth

Don’t get us wrong, cold smoothies aren’t the prob Don’t get us wrong, cold smoothies aren’t the problem.
Weak digestion is.But layering cold, raw foods on top of that
often amplifies the issue. And ladies we know hormone balance matters
for more reasons than one.We take an approach that combines different fields and perspectives, including TCM wisdom.
Because when we stop looking at symptoms in isolation and start supporting your “digestive fire” (Spleen Qi), things start to shift for our clients.Know someone struggling with digestion
while sipping on a cold smoothie or eating a big raw salad? Send this their way.#functionalnutrition

People often ask if buying a collagen peptide tub People often ask if buying a collagen peptide tub is worth it.The key is understanding this isn’t simply “giving your body collagen.”Once you swallow that scoop, it largely loses its collagen identity. Even though collagen peptides are already partially broken down, digestion still breaks them into amino acids and small peptides. From there, your body decides what happens next.Your body does the same thing when you eat high-quality protein foods — which also provide the raw materials needed to build collagen, often with a wider range of amino acids. So ultimately, it’s up to you.The research on collagen supplementation shows modest benefits in some studies, but it’s far from a guaranteed solution.#functionalnutrition #yycmoms #yycfertility
We’re a sucker for harmony. In our lives and in o We’re a sucker for harmony. In our lives and in our bodies. But true harmony requires the full picture.Lately, we’re seeing more young girls started on hormonal contraceptives without fully understanding how they work.Natural progesterone isn’t just about reproduction or healthy cycles.
After ovulation, it becomes a calming neurosteroid that supports the brain’s GABA pathway. When ovulation is suppressed, that natural progesterone rise doesn’t occur and the neurochemical environment shifts. This isn’t about fear.
It’s about informed choice. Before making significant hormonal changes for ourselves or our daughters, we deserve full education.
Harmony starts with understanding.➡️ We regularly work with clients on nutritional plans that encourage healthy ovulation and progesterone.note *this isn't medical advice. Track how you feel and talk to a trusted provider.*#hormonehealth

Glutathione is excellent at binding and preparing Glutathione is excellent at binding and preparing toxins for removal. But if Phase II pathways are sluggish, or bile flow isn’t moving well (which we see often), your body can end up dealing with more than it’s ready to clear. ⬇️In otherwords, you feel much worse. Also why we don’t praise a supplement regardless how impressive it can be ➡️ before assessing the individual firstOur Nutrigenetics testing can provide insight into genetic variations involved in methylation and glutathione-related pathways. It doesn’t measure bile flow or real-time detox function which is why out plans are layered. We hope we didn’t interrupt the marketing narrative. We’re always going to give it to you straight. 🤌🏻🙌🏼#functionalnutrition

Long-lost L. reuteri… Years into our practice has Long-lost L. reuteri…Years into our practice has shown that many people don’t benefit from probiotics at all — they benefit more from supporting their own native gut strains first. But in select cases, I’m very specific about the strain being used.L. reuteri, for example, has been shown to influence oxytocin signaling — a hormone involved in stress regulation, connection, and hormone communication. ➡️ Its prevalence has also declined significantly in modern Western populations. This is why we are very cautious with the blanket term 'probiotics' ➡️ and why we now incorporate gut testing in select cases. Ask us how.Support your ecosystem first.

Here’s what most people aren’t told: Long before b Here’s what most people aren’t told:
Long before birth, mom’s gut helps shape baby’s immune and gut environment.Birth is when microbes are transferred and their quality reflects mom’s gut health.Yes. A natural birth pathway should support a more diverse, mom-like microbiome.
That part of the science matters. But if digestion has been chronically off (constipation, unmanaged “IBS,” repeated antibiotics), those patterns don’t magically disappear at delivery —  and influences early microbial exposure, too. That’s why out practice focuses on gut health before pregnancy.⬇️For those with more complex or stubborn gut patterns, we now offer gut testing insights to help guide a more targeted approach. If your birth didn’t go as planned - we see you.

They look cute. They taste good. But if results ar They look cute. They taste good.
But if results are the goal, form matters.Research shows benefits from creatine uses👇🏼
3–5 grams of dry creatine monohydrate — the most studied and stable form available.
In powder form, creatine remains stable over time because well...it's DRY.Gummies, on the other hand, are made using water and heat, and sometimes acidity — all factors creatine is known to be sensitive to.
That processing and ongoing moisture exposure can affect stability over time and influences how much active creatine is actually delivered. So the real question isn’t whether gummies taste good. 👇🏼🤌🏻It’s whether the brand has tested creatine levels in the final product and verified stability across the full shelf life?Tag a friend whose been curious about these.#functionalnutrition
